If your ECU did not come from your car — a donor, spare, swapped or second-hand unit — the immobilizer must be disabled or matched to your vehicle before tuning.
Until that is done, the immobilizer system disables OBD2 flashing, so the tune cannot be written to the ECU at all.
Two ways to handle it
Shipping the ECU in with a tune order
The immobilizer is removed free of charge when the ECU is sent in with a tune order.
Immobilizer removal on its own
- Purchase the immobilizer removal service.
- Include your VIN in the order notes.
- A prepaid shipping label is provided after purchase.
- Your VIN and matching software are written into the ECU before it is returned.
